This was a final project for an independent study of Activewear. I wanted to create a jacket very different from formal snowboard jackets, with comfort, mobility and style as the focus of the design. The pattern making process was rather long and arduous for this jacket, I kept getting the fit wrong, and ended up re-making all the patterns about 5 times(not fun). It features a chapstick pocket (upper left) goggle pocket (mid right) and hand warming pockets (bottom). When unsnapped, the shell reveals a fold out wallet/ ID holder, route map pocket, and keychain hangar. Let me know what you think : )
The Arctic Chill Snowboard Jacket features 100% cotton diamond terry lining, A double layer of needlepunch batting for insulation, and a Goretex waterproof breatheable outer shell. Neoprene was used in high stress areas for added mobility. Hand warming pockets are lined with a soft one-sided fleecy stretchy synthetic fabric I have yet to identify. I found it in a free pile.

This is a crazy awesome jacket! I can say that my dude would be jealous, as he loves things with lots of zippers! He thinks that cuffs of shirts should be attached with zippers (in a french cuff style or something…)
I am amazed by your skill!

Awesome! Waw I’d love to study activewear, I think it allows you to be free and use your imagination in ways everyday wear cannot…
I looked at a Columbia jacket and they had one of those little squares of microfiber to clean the goggles inside the pocket attached with a little elastic so you don’t loose it.
P.S. Enjoy the boarding!

Your design looks REALLY good! Are the seams sealed or taped? You might want to think about using a different lining because cotton kills. Cotton easily absorbs water and sweat which can then freeze. That will put the the wearer on the fast track to hypothermia.

I like it! I really think the clothes for snow are quite boring, and so, yours is more funny, have more details and looks so comfortable! Nice job!

Wow, you’re jacket is so awsome. The diagonal closure really worked out eh. and you were very practical with pockets and stuff. The only thing that I didn’t like so much was the pointy hood but you definetly achieved something different but still good with this jacket.
