I had bought all the fabric to make this for my friend’s baby, who then arrived a full 4 weeks early! I had to make the whole thing in one afternoon, in advance of the baby shower which suddenly became the baby-welcoming party! This was a challenge as I’ve never attempted applique before. The advantage was that I was able to include the baby’s name in the design, which I wouldn’t have done if she’d been on time…but the disadvantage was that as with all things made in a hurry, I was not entirely happy with the end result and would have liked to have had more time to fiddle and make it perfect.
