Description

My first project on BurdaStyle and also my entry in the Apron Remake Challenge!

(Loosely) Based on the Two Tone Apron pattern from Sewing Republic, I kept to the original with one right pocket, gathered waist, front bow, and three-panel style of construction while making it my own with a number of changes.

The pocket was changed to an appliqued apple pocket with contrasting topstitching and ruffles were added to embellish the middle panel. I also gathered the entire apron instead of only the middle panel to give it more volume. Like the original, the bow can be tied in the front, but is also cute when tied in the back, with the ties unfolded.

Thanks for the sweet comments everyone!! Although I’m bummed my apron didn’t make it to the final slideshow, as my first project on BurdaStyle it was really great to read all your comments and meet members of the community :)

I can’t believe this one isn’t in the top 50 finalists for the contest, I really thought your were my toughest competetor, I don’t agree with this one not being chosen, it is stunning and so above and beyond many of the ones that did make it. I am very sorry and please know I think this apron is a WINNER!!

Bummer! I had no idea that the 50 finalists had been chosen already, I haven’t seen any notice of the final slideshow!

Thanks for your comments though, your own apron is fantastic :)

I’m all about the ruffles and I love the colors. Your apple applique pocket is perfect!
