I was perusing through ModCloth a few days ago and stumbled upon a denim skirt that I quite liked (photo above). After some thought, I decided to have a ‘diy’ go at it. Was quite happy with the result, as it was my first try at making a whole pattern. As usual, I’ve added in-seam pockets.
(apologies for the name project, since “jean skirt,” “denim skirt,” etc. have already been taken..who would’ve thought?)

Yours is better than the ModCloth version – gorgeous! It will be a wardrobe staple that you can wear with anything for years to come!

I didn’t buy a pattern for it..i just guessed and measured my waist. Each front pleat is one and half inches, so the whole pleat (with the back folds included) is about 5 inches altogether and just calculated how much fit in the front panel :)

Cute! I like that you went with an actual waistband instead of elastic!

Thanks! I only used a waistband since my sewing machine and I are terrible with elastics :D. S\
