Again used an Ikea fabric and the pattern is from BWOF March 2008 (no. 114). This skirt was quick and easy to sew and I like its outcome. Blogged here: http://sewionista.blogspot.com/

I love your skirt! I have this fabric too and I bought it not sure what to make with it, I just got it because I LOVED it. I really like seeing it made into a skirt…might have to add to my project list :) hehe. On the washing question:I can’t offer my personal experience but when I told my work colleague I had got some great Ikea fabric she told me she has some made into table cloths and commented that she loves them becasue they wash up so well, so there you go :)

Thank you both for your nice comments. It is certainly more suitable for furniture as it is a little stiff but I loved the print so much that I wanted to wear it. I cannot tell you how the fabric will be after several washes as I only prewashed it. Some Ikea fabrics shrinks quite a bit in the wash but their quality or print does not lack through it.

Thanks for letting me know! I definitely love their fabric and am thinking about recovering a suitcase to change it from the oh-so-boring black. The IKEA stuff seems to be a bit less expensive than the marimekko stuff.

I love the skirt, but I have a question about the Ikea fabric. After seeing all of the stuff make from the Ikea fabric I went to check out the fabric. The only fabric the IKEA store had was a light weight canvas that really seemed more suitable for furniture and home accessories, plus the fabric didn’t seem that washable. Just how washable is the fabric and how well does print resist abrasion wear from repeated washing? Thanks.
