Description

This is the top from Vogue Anne Klein pattern V1128 – made up in a great quality hot pink jersey (maybe you can see the light sheen on the fabric). The top has cap sleeves that I really like, and it’s not hard to make if you don’t mind labouring over lots of pleats.

Material Notes

Light weight great quality hot pink jersey from Tessuti fabrics, York St, Sydney, plus a little interfacing and hot pink poly/cotton thread.

I used a Vogue pattern, Vogue 1128. Basically start with the bodice pattern shape for a rather plain round-neck top, then cut several (16 or more I think?) deep, inverted triangles into the neckline and spread the pattern shape out as dictated by the cuts. I think the technique is called cut and spread. The bodice shape becomes very wide at the top, but when you fold the fabric back along these triangles you get back the original bodice shape with pleats. I hope that makes sense???
