What are the finished waist measurements for the various sizes?

I just went ahead and measured the top edge of the waistband pieces. Whoever uses this should probably check if I subtracted all the SA correctly.
size 42 = 34 7/8 in.
size 40 = 33 1/4 in.
size 38 = 31 1/4 in.
size 36 = 30 in.

Part b of step six does not make an ounce of sense to me, could someone please explain it in better terms?

Sew the yoke and the back pant piece together, right sides facing. Zigzag or serge that seam and then press it down towards the pant piece. Then top stitch it (sew it 0.7 cm away from the seam line). This top stitching will hold the seam allowances down so it stays nice and flat. I hope this makes sense to you now.

Thanks so much! I have it figured out now.
I feel kinda dumb about it now XD

Something weird is going on with your crotch curve. It’s not visible in the model pics but is obvious in the member photos. These would be really cute if they fit us like they fit the model :p

Is the model wearing it oversize? Because it seems to be fitting snugger on the user submitted creations.

The fabric here is very frustrating! The only jean material I can find is this horrible very bright blue thick stuff! If anyone knows where to get nice fabric in Athens it would be appreciated!

I don’t know about Athens, but I got stretch denim for $5.99/yard that looked EXACTLY identical to my Rock & Republic jeans (minus the distressing) from Vogue Fabrics in Illinois. You can buy swatches and fabric from them online. 2 1/2 years after your post, I’m not even sure you’re still looking.

hurrah for jeans! I’m digging the non-traditional back pockets, too. I’ve made lots of jeans from one particular Burda WOF pattern and I LOVVVVE them.

Oh wow! Just a few days ago, I bought some stretch denim, with the intent on making new jeans by altering a regular pant pattern, but now I don’t have to! Such perfect timing, and I absolutely love this pattern! Thanks Burdastyle!

My granddaughter will be thrilled. I might even try a pair for the grandson, after I raise the waistline. A manly pair as it were, and snug enough I won’t view his unders! Nehmah
