Description

I made these as part of the sew along, even though I was a bit slow and the sew along has already finished. This did work in my favour as I was able to see everyone else’s creations and use their tips. The most obvious change I made to the pattern was making them knee length. I also fashioned some cuffs copied from some similar length pants that I have. I made the belt loops a little narrower than on the pattern. The fit is quite snug (lucky for stretch) but still comfortable. I also used a green patterned fabric to line the front pockets and the inside of the waistband.

Material Notes

Black stretch denim with subtle herring bone stripe. Green patterned cotton fabric. Contrasting green thread. Silver jeans button. Silver rivets. Black heavy duty zip.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I do love Australian summers, well in the southern parts anyway. I say bite the bullet and have a go with these jeans. They are not difficult, just a little time consuming with all the details (well for me anyway).

Wow! They look great, everything from fabric choice and alterations to execution and fit. They look wonderful on you.

I agree with Sewlikecarolyn, I need some guts to dare and try pants.

I have been trying to muster up enough guts to make Anita pants, seeing yours make me want to make two pairs, one in capri length, one full length… argh! where’s my courage when I need it! I think that they look wonderful on you and the topstitching is very well done. Great Job! and good for you for taking your time!
