I am a total novice to sewing. But with the marvelous help of Angela Kane’s pinafore dress tutorial on youtube, I was able to sew this dress out of a bedsheet. I was not at all confident about sewing, hence I bought a cheap pure cotton bedsheet. It did not have any stretch to it. But I am so full of delight to see the end result. Thank you so much Angela !.

Hello gowmukhi, I love your version. Colour is the colour of the moment! It may be a bed sheet but it’s beautiful. You have taken the time to do lovely original embroidery as well. I can’t believe it is the first thing you have ever made.
As promised, anyone making up this pattern and publishing it on BurdaStylel gets a free One Years Subscription to my site. i hope you will find it useful.

Super impressed with your topstitching, especially since this is your first dress. One thing, it looks like the dress would benefit from a hook-and-eye at the top of the zipper, since it starts a little lower than the neckline of the dress.
