These are one of three sets of shorts that I am making for my fiance so that he has something to wear in Florida. I lengthened the Andre pattern for day wear because they were a tad ahem short if you will pardon the pun. The original length is fine for swimming but he really needs to cover up a bit more in the sun.
I found the pattern a little hard to follow due to the diagrams. Alex actually had to pin them together after I had a hissy fit. however I am certain that any one else will be fine with them.
By the way I added the pockets. They are just patch pockets but I was quite proud of them. Mainly because this is the first thing that I have made for an adult.
Elastic and one yard of cotton per pair.

Thank you honey! I spent quite a lot of time wearing Alex’s when we were in Florida and they are bloody comfy! xx

Hi there I love your trunks! I’m new around here and new to sewing. My boyfriend would like some swimming trunks, and I came across these. I’ve had a look at the instructions online and they don’t seem to show you how to insert the lining for swimming — do you get these if you download the pattern? Also, was it easy to lengthen the shorts??! Thanks!

Sorry Vermillion, I didn’t see this post till now! They were easy to lengthen and to be quite honest I didn’t use a lining for them but I imagine it would be fairly easy once you have a look at the pattern although Sew4my3 will be able to help you more than I can (I’m still a novice)
Hope that’s ok xxx

Nice, well done! The material looks really cute too, are those things on it little animals?

Yeah they are but I cut them with the pattern upside down by accident! Alex says it didn’t matter because they were the right way up to him, he is sweet like that.
Thank you for being my first and only comment, you have just made a little sewing geek very happy! x
