Description

I love to buy wool/cashmere sweaters at thrift stores to felt and upcyle. This was a turtle neck that became a pair of pants for my son, and I didn’t want to throw away the neck band, because it was so warm and soft, so I had the idea of turning it into a headwrap for my daughter. It works really nice, because it doesn’t flatten her curls. All I did was finish the cut edge with a blanket stitch and hid a row of elastic thread in the blanket stitch, then embellished it with my favorite buttons and felt.

How cute!!! I might have to try this for my granddaughter. You did a wonderful job on this. What size elastic did you use?

Thanks! I used elastic thread, the same used for shirring. I~m not even sure it was necessary, I just wanted to make sure it would contour her head. easy as pie, actually, easier!

Cute idea! Great way to use up the rest of the sweater.
