This is about as far into wearing leggings and a t-shirt out in public, which girls actually do here. But I like covering my butt with more than a tight layer of spandex. I wanted a dress to wear in the winter comfortably, with tights of course that’s why I made it shorter than I normally would because I know I’ll never be showing leg when wearing this dress. And it fits right in with winter here, grey! Actually I really like grey, I’d go so far as to call it my neutral of choice. Basically this dress is incredibly comfortable and minimal so I could pair it with just about anything and it’ll work. Now I just need to find shoes I can where with it, to school and possibly in snow…

I have a WIP with this pattern, but I put it aside because the neckline was incredibly wide on me (and I got tired of sewing straight seams to colour-block it). Did you have that problem? It fits you very nicely.

I was worried while I was making it that the neckline would look strange because of how wide and shallow it is, but once I folded over the edges and used a twin needle to finish them it looked much better. Next time I make this I will definitely be redrafting the neckline though.

It may be comfortable, but I think it looks very elegant. Really nice!

Nice. Clean, elegant lines and you’ve certainly got the figure for it. It’s casual winter chic. Also- WAY better than the current trend for leggings and a tee! Yuck!

Every time I see a girl dressed like that, the only thing I can think is, “LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!” In my book, leggings by themselves are only acceptable as outerwear until you’re seven or so. After that, you really should cover your rear end.
