This dress was made for my daughter for a formal event. The dress is navy blue with a sheer yellow sash just below the bust and a brooch pinned through the sheer just below and between the bust area. It was made from an old 1930’s pattern that had to be completely redrafted because it was a size 34 and my daughter is a 29"bust. The navy fabric is a bridal silk and the dress zips on the side.
Navy Bridal silk, yellow sparkle sheer, thread, side zipper and a small brooch

What a gorgeous blue! I truly love this shade of blue – it has such an “optimistic” side to it. I am sure your daughter was happy – she looks very pretty in this dress.

Thank you so much for letting me know you posted a photo of the pattern itself. I was very, very curious about it. I love it. . . I even saved the image in my documents. One of my all time favorite movies is the 1939 version of “The Women.” This pattern reminds me of it.

This is gorgeous and your looks lovely on your daughter! I would never have thought of navy and yellow together but it’s worked so well.

So beautiful. I like the navy & yellow together, and the slope of the sash is so elegant. It’s terribly cool that you used a vintage pattern from the 1930’s!
