Description

A startling poppy red wedding gown!

This one is my own design, drawing on gowns of the 1950’s. It was inspired by a Givenchy gown worn by Audrey Hepburn.

The skirt is VERY full, with two deep godets in the front and two more in the back,. The hem is lifted at the front to show off the shoes. The back is closed with covered buttons and hand worked loops. The gown is held up by an internal corset-like support made from cotton, lined with cotton print, and shaped with spiral metal boning. Th gown collar and corsage flower are made of silk dupion and silk organza.

    Oh my goodness, this is awesome! A wedding in red…how non-conformist, I want to meet this girl! The skirt is so lovely.

      She went up the aisle to the Flower Duet, and back down as a wife to the triumphal strains of the Star Wars theme tune! Made us all grin like maniacs! :D
