Description
The dress inspired by a dress I saw in a boutique. I loved it, and had to make one. So, I made my own pattern (I will post the pattern later) – it turned out just fine :). The neckline was too deep for my small breast and didn’t stand close to the body, so I slightly altered the original pattern with few pleates, which resulted with heart-shaped neckline. The top part of the dress (neckline and sleeves) and the bottm part ot its skirt are made from the shiny face of the fabric. The rest of the dress was made from the mat fabric’s face. Unfortunately, pictures aren’t that good to show these details.
I’ve made another variation of the dress, to see it click here. Also I posted some illustrations that describe the pattern construction process so take a look if you’re interested in drafting your own pattern.
Please note that instructions are posted as a PDF file, under the Print at copy shop section, along with the pattern file.
This dress was published in the December / January 2011 / 2012 issue of the Sew News magazine.
Material Notes
Cotton with two faces and flowerish ornament.

First apply the front neckline yoke to the front dress’ panel. Sew the pieces together and press the seams.
Then sew the shoulder pieces.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t know you left me a comment. The pattern has instructions, they’re posted as a PDF file, in the Print at copy shop section, along with the pattern.

Just brilliant! Thanks for sharing it and taking your time to explain how to construct it! I also wish I could find the right jewelry to it – yours matches amazingly! I guess it’s the necklace that makes it look really refined… Thanks again, your works are a recreation!

Hi Katica, thanks for the comment.
I am not an expert on grading, nor resizing the patterns. The only advice I can give you is to take a look at this tutorial I posted here. Basically, you’s have to trace/draft a basic dress pattern with sleeves, and than follow the alteration instructions to make your AMC dress pattern.
I hope this helped, and good luck!

It’s a beautiful dress and I think it’s fabulous that you plan to post the pattern. It’s difficult to find patterns for dresses with defined waist and that are flattering on women with smaller bra size.
