Description

Since the Amanda is so pretty, we had to offer it in Plus as well. We bring the past to the present with our vintage-inspired silk chiffon gathered top. For this version, we moved the drawstring up a bit above the waist to give a bit more definition. Chic, timeless, and elegant, we can’t wait to see yours.

Material Notes

Silk chiffon, fusible interfacing.

I’m in the process of cutting out the pattern pieces for this, but having examined both the pattern and the instructions, I have a question. The Amanda Plus description mentions the drawstring being above the waist rather that the hemline, and yet the pattern has no casing/placket piece for the waist, and the instructions still continue to mention the hemline drawstring and ignore the waist adaptation altogether.

I know I can probably create my own casing using the width of the shirt patterns, but others may also get confused. Or am I on the wrong track altogether?

I love this version better than the other one. Question: Would it be difficult to raise the casing from the lower waist (as it is in the original version) to under the bustline in this one. I am pretty busty and this would be far more flattering on my figure. Thanks!

I love this! I have a top very similar but it is a little small for me. This is beautiful, I’m in need of pretty tops to wear with jeans. I may have to add this to my favourites until I’m good enough for ‘average’ difficulty patterns though!

Terrific! I like this one a lot. I’m also glad to see you adding more Plus size.

    DitaVee, sorry about that.
We will from now on always announce in the description of a new pattern if a plus size will follow.

    Best,

I agree: Alden looks great and I like these pics more than the small size ones.

Argh!!! Is there any chance you can please start posting when you intend to bring a plus version out the next week like you’ve done before, so I don’t go buying the smaller one so I can grade it? Lesson learned – wait a week before buying a pattern from Burdastyle :) As usual Alden looks great in this (better than the ‘small’ size), and I can’t wait to make it.

Woo! I love it, much more my style with the higher waistband, as I don’t think I am petite enough for the dropped waistband of the other one, and I know my chest would be flattered by a cinched waist. This is lovely, I may have to splurge for this pattern!

Yes – I too like the higher waist band much better! This is a blouse I would wear! (: And Alden is looking just lovely, as usual!

I lik this version more than the other one! I can see the pattern is the same, but I think the higher drawstring may just be more flattering on just about anybody and I like this colour.
