Firstly, that gorgeous photobomb is Nero! He is the love of my life and nowhere near as MASSIVE as he looks in that photo. Incidentally he actually belongs to my boyfriend, but might as well be mine because he likes me best. Word on the street is that I am only with Graham so that I can hang around with Nero, and that may or may not be true.
The design of this is based upon a classic mans Aloha shirt but a bit smaller to avoid swamping me. I remained pretty faithful to the details of the classic Aloha shirt apart from the fact I made my version shorter and added more topstitching on the yoke. Sadly I didn’t get decent photos of that, but the back and shoulders of the yoke are both topstitched. I added a single pointed pocket on the left hand side which was popular in the 1950’s, in the 1940’s there tended to be 2 rounded pockets. And OF COURSE I popped my sleeves because I am cool and that is what cool people do. Like the Fonz.
