This is what this project originally looked like (as I’ve envisioned it), but because of some disastrous events that took place I had to work my way around to try to salvage this creation.
Visit my blog for the whole story.
I’ll be posting the final result of this almost disastrous pleated tee after it comes out of the laundry.

As a matter of fact, I love your first version even better than the second one (http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/again-not-as-i-imagined)! The zig-zag at the top looks almost intentional. If you made it about 2 inches deep in the middle, and kept tapering the notches, it would look just perfect for my taste. I like asymmetrical patterns. Your creation reminds me of an old friend of mine, a photographer. His motto was – the effect is in the defect.
If you have trouble keeping the two shoulders in the same shape because of the bias, maybe you can consider converting the right shoulder to a strap. I thought about gathering but this will introduce an element from another style.

Oohhh, I’m glad to find I’m not the only one trying to make something out of an always insuficient metre of fabric! I always have to change my initial plans…..Must learn to buy more fabric!
If I get the time, I’ll sure try to make one. I absolutely love the way it looks! But don’t worry — if I make it, I’ll mention your huge inspiration :-) Wish me luck…

Thanks Milkyway… I also find this version cute… unfortunately the end result is not how I wanted it to look like… :(

I can’t wait to see how it’s going to look! I love it now, anyway…. And I might even try copy this. Is it ok with you?

Well, for starters, I love this version more than what it has become. But I like this design so badly that I am planning to make another one (but this time making sure that I have more than just a metre of fabric so that my options are not limited).
I would be more than happy to let you make your own version. Just don’t forget to post it here and mention that I inspired you to make one (so that I can also feature your version on my blog).
