I used a 60’s wedding dress pattern for this, I love this style of neckline.
Made from some far too thick (but very soft) mystery fleece/wool like fabric. Nice but makes the bust darts just a little too pointy for polite company!
The band is something from grandmas’ stash which I inherited.
I plan making another in a more suitable fabric, fingers crossed we may actually have a summer here in chilly Yorkshire.
Bow- yes or no?
Duckegg blue fabric of unknown composition

I love it! And I like the bow, but I would make it larger… maybe? You can fix the darts buy continuing to sew them. Sew for another inch or so just along the fold and then iron using a shoulder ironing cushion! Well done!!

I like the bow… but then, since I was just looking at a pattern with an identical bow, I’m biased! Very cute dress, I love those 60s styles!

no bow. Or maybe placed a bit off center?

Bow for sure. With regards to the darts; at least you will have a space to ahem go into. On the other hand I don’t know about Leeds but Masham is really quite warm at the moment, so maybe it won’t be a problem xx

I like it without the bow myself. Could be the fabric though, because it seems a little too chunky for my liking. I do like the dress though, bow or no bow!

Bows for sure, it wouldn’t be a 60’s dress without the bow.

Love the dress, but no bow for me ;-) The dress itself is very feminine, both style and with the band (I looove the band!). But the bow confuses me a little. Know the feeling about summer/not summer. In Dk it’s not even really spring yet, most days.
