Bay Area, Califo...

This is the first garment I’ve made. It’s not really a style I would wear, but I needed to try something. It’s way too blousy for my figure, and I am not one to wear large floral prints! But I had to give it a try. You can’t really see it in the pictures, but I shirred the shoulders to give it a little bit of shape, and I also made a wide belt that buttons on the side.

Material Notes

Some quilting fabric I had in the attic and some buttons. Since this was my first project, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on fabric.

Burda, myself and my stepdaughter.

    Thank you, Carla. :-)

I am actually thinking of reworking this into a skirt, with the belt that I made being the waist so that it buttons on the side.

This style looks great on you. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘blousy’ but the print is very nice and what helps is that it’s black and white. The open neck actually elongates your neck. You can really style it up with a pair of black heels.

Thank you…. I appreciate your kind words.

Camilaustral, yes, I thought about making a black belt. I also considered red— Thank you for the words of encouragement, I will do that!

i really like how you look :) you can make it even more flattering by making the belt black, solid black, so it gives you a more defined waist. you should try it… and wear it, because you look great!! :)
