Vogue 8827: Misses’ Dress and Belt. Very loose-fitting, wrap dress has front extending into collar with draped front variations, self-lined yoke back, inside ties and belt.
This a very basic dress, and the instructions were easy to follow. The only tricky part is turning the corners of the collar/neck seam.
I decided to use french seams instead of seam binding because my rayon fabric was very light-weight.
Instead of the suggested ribbon ties, I made a short piece of tubing with my fabric and pulled out a button from the stash. Ribbon ties are always coming undone for me, so I thought I would try something a bit different. And it worked very well!
I also added a snap to close the front side. I just do not think that a tie belt it going to keep everything in place. This also keeps the hem even.
There may be better wrap dress patterns out there, but the collar on this one makes it special and I am glad I gave it a try!
