I decided to make a dear friend a bow tie for his 21st birthday, so he can do his best Chuck Bass impersonation. Based on the free David bow tie pattern here on burda style.
Just a note that if you’re using dupion silk like I did, i found if i clipped close to the straight stitch then turned it out the seams often frayed because of the point of my knitting needle was pushing through them. I tried to remedy bu this by using a smaller stitch, and when that didn’t work, decided to use the stretch seaming stitch on my machine (a double straight stitch with a zigzag, any overlocking stitch would work too I think)

I used mint green dupion silk, this lovely friend looks great in pastels (so basically the world is his oyster, no?)
