Either I can’t measure, or my fabric was not as stretchy as it should be. According to the size charts, I should be a 44, and the shirt pattern in size 44 fit. I enlarged this pattern, but it still was too small, so I added the ruching on the sides to get more room, and the ruching on the side of the cups because there just wasn’t enough coverage. I like the look of it. Now if it would just warm up!

The pattern just vaguely talks about ‘grainline’, but nowhere does it mention that the greatest stretch should go around the body (which usually means cutting the suit perpendicular to the usual selvage-parallel grain. Good save with the ruching! I have d cups, I like this kind of pattern because it works out if I cut a larger size for the insert and just cram it in there.

Love the pattern on the material you used! I think it would go good for a handbag as well providing I can find a better material than the Jersey material ..

is the “gathered front inlay” from the instructions, and the “center fold insert” from the pattern the same thing? i’m trying to figure this out, … i dont see the stars for the gather on my pattern =( any tips?

Very nice! The gathered parts add an interesting detail actually, so it worked out great! I need to make myself a swimsuit too and Alison pattern (even though I have to resize it) is definitely one of those models I consider – seeing yours makes me almost make the final decision. ;-)

I like the detail on the bust area, nice fabric too.
