My friend Ali is a crazy sewer. She has not worn the same thing twice for as long as I can remember, and her room is a bed of fabrics and half cut up clothing. She sews (almost) 24 hours a day, never uses a pattern, and always looks absolutely fabulous.
This skirt is based on one I saw her wearing the other day. She has this technique of using a strip of stretch fabric as the belt so that it can just slide on, then adding a button or another classy fastener to add a pretty detail. When in a sewing rush like I was for my fashion show, this was an amazing project.
