This was a fun little project with vintage fabrics! And since I couldn’t find a Cheshire cat the right size, I had to make this little fellow to go with Alice.

Material Notes

The dress is made from vintage nylon dotted swiss (sheer baby blue………….with attached batiste underslip). The little pinafore was made of vintage batist that I hemstitched with blue thread to embellish it. I made the little Cheshire out of felt…..he’s so tiny that he was stitched entirely by hand. The stockings were made from some striped knit.

Thank you……after having sewn “real” garments for living, breathing people, it is fun to take a different turn with garment construction.

Thanks…..the dolly is from a company in Korea. She’s a BJD (ball jointed doll) and can pose in wonderfully human ways. You can also change her eyes to be whatever color you like and change her hair which is a wig, to any color or wig style you like. I used to make pinafore aprons for my little girls….and they are such a timeless design. Looks as sweet on little girls today as they did “way back when…..”
