A skirt that depicts key elements of the first chapter of Alice in Wonderland, part of a Gothic Alice costume that I’ve made for a Halloween party. The skirt has a pin-tucked waist for maximum volume with a decorative hem featuring appliqué, ribbon and hand/machine stitched detailing. The skirt and hem were tucked and gathered at various points to add interest and it was worn over a crinoline with a vintage jacket, handmade jet bead necklace, appliqué fob watch and miniature top hat.
Cotton, voile, silk, ribbons and beads.

Thank you all… I’ve looked through pics of the party but nothing worth showing you all of the outfit, so I’ll put it back on the dress form and take some pics.

Wow. Interesting appliques, love the gathers, and Alice is one of my favorite stories.
