Alexander McQueen impressed me back in 2009 with his Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear collection featuring a glorious use of kaleidoscope prints. 4 years later I am the owner of one of these fantastic prints.
This dress is participating in Julia Bobbin’s Mad Men 2 Challenge.
The pattern is from Burda 11/2012_121. I like the way wide skirt swings down below the fitted bodice with beautiful inverted pleats. The dress is lined with a fantastic Bemberg lining (made in Gallarate, Italy), I really like it silky luxurious touch against the skin. In the back seam is 60 cm invisible zipper, three-quarte sleeves, pockets in the side seams. I’ve made also a 50′s petticoat to help the silhouette.
