Description
This blouse is truly a work of art and quite a unique pattern. The ruffled sleeves and rippling hemline are created by various darts and gathers while the front and back openings both close with a sweet line of buttons. We made our Alexander* blouse from black & white polka-dot silk charmeuse with a matching belt (included in pattern).
*In loving memory of Alexander McQueen, a truly innovative and inspiring man.

The sleeve is interestingly designed. Really, I’d thought they were set in until I saw the technical drawing.

It’s really cute! It has a vintage feel to it that reminds me a lot of the sencha blouse by Colette patterns. Great stuff!
I’m a bit confused by the buttons in the front and the back, though. Do both sides button up, or is one side just decorative?

Wow, the polka dot fabric makes these blouses look especially similar.
As per your question, both sides button up. Also- I’m so relieved to say that we have someone new editing our instructions. The steps for this blouse have been modified by this person and I find them much more clear- hopefully you all will too. Looking forward to feedback.

Super cute guys and @alisondahl thanks for looking into the instructions editing. Any chance you can have this fabulous person look at the Jenny skirt instructions? You guys are doing such a great job on the new site now, well done xx

Oh and ps ncn6, the Collete patterns are just wonderful, I got the Parfait and Ceylon patterns last week, they are so beautifully packaged it made me squeal with delight, I can’t wait to make one of them.

Hey kaitui kiwi, I got some Colette patterns recently too! I picked up the Sencha blouse and the Rooibos dress and I’m working on the sencha blouse in a silk charmuese now, which is probably why the Alexander reminded me so much of it! I’m not normally one who can afford expensive patterns, but I had a little extra income from some hemming and so I splurged. I think the Alexander blouse is very similar in spirit, though, and for a good price!
ps. Can’t wait to see what your Ceylon turns out like!
