Collaboration with my friend – she wanted a 20s style drop waist, semi-fitted dress with a tie, low front and back and maybe lace. And perhaps blue? We drew a few pictures, sent a few texts (we live 900km apart) et voila! A dress is born. I used a basic circle skirt pattern for the bottom, and just drafted the top according to Alex’s measurements, mostly just using a dressmaker’s model.
Blue chiffon. Black chiffon tie. Underdress (attached) made from a vintage slip with a lace bottom, turned upside down, fitted and an extra layer of chiffon skirt on the bottom (the skirt is just a full circle).

The first picture seems to be broken, and I remember it being a very good reference. I’m trying to do a similar design for my friend’s wedding. Do you have any more pictures of the dress/do you still have that first picture? It’s absolutely gorgeous!

I generally don’t like 20’s fashion due to the fact that the dresses looks a tiny bit too baggy for me. You managed to make your friend’s dress much more fitted-looking and yet saved the general form of the era! Congratulations! Love the lace and chiffon combination too!

This is so, so lovely! Lovely color, lovely shape, lovely everything. I’ll be making my own bridesmaid dress for a summer wedding, and this is very inspirational.

This is incredibly lovely. It was a great idea to use a vintage slip for the underdress, that’s what I did with my wedding dress. Very well done!
