Made from McCall’s pattern 5390, this little number is a great summer skirt. It is flared enough that it is still very flattering, but not so full that it flies up over my face on those windy days. It is actually a polka dot quilting cotton, which has enough body to it that the number of pleats sewn in the front and back actually stay put. I remodelled the patch pockets, because the ones shown on the pattern rank high on the ralphing scale… I lined it with rayon bemberg lining, because nothing feels better in the heat than a cold lining. My co-model is Pearl, and thanks to Heather for helping with the shots!
This is cotton, but any natural or synthetic material in a medium to light weight that presses well would be ideal.
