Description
I attempted this skirt in my fashion class at high school. I didnt have much help from my teacher (apart from a few helpful hints) which made it really rewarding when i finished it. I’m really pleased with it still and get compliments even after having made it almost a year ago. I moved the buttons to the corners of the waist band rather than the original position but noticed that the centre front of the waist band was sagging to reveal the zip behind it so i put a dome (snaps as i think those in the USA call them?) either side of the zip to hold the waist band up. Once I’d tried it on it didn’t sit as high on my hips as i wanted so i also added elastic strips to the side seams at the waist band. Because its wool its been great over winter with tights but willbe great in the warmer seasons too.
Material Notes
I bought super cheap lining (coffee colour) and the wool/rayon fabric for the actual skirt was half price which i felt justified my irratic spending on the still expensive fabric. It was totally worth loosing that money! All fabric bought from Global Fabrics in Wellington New Zealand. Buttons from Grandma’s handy dandy box :)

Thanks for the inspiring pictures. I think I’ll give this pattern a go, with some fabric I’ve had for way too long..

I not only adore the skirt, but find your whole outfit very cute and office-dreamy. I think you were also very helpful by filling out the description and sharing the whole story: I often wonder how a pattern turns into a dress or skirt…it’s nice to know! And thank you for sharing so many pictures! Everybody should post like you!
