Inspired by Alabama Chanin reverse applique. I enlarged the Rose design from the Alabama Stitch Book and cut a stencil. The skirt has been modified slightly from the pattern in the book. I added a zipper and waistband vs the fold over elastic. I am totally enamored by Alabama stitching!

This looks absolutely stunning, I have just started trying to do reverse applique and would love to eventually achieve this level of beauty with my project.
I have had a look at the close up picture and I wonder if you wouldn’t mind explaining something to me? Is the darker grey outline printed/drawn onto the lighter grey fabric?
Thanks Candy

Alabama Stitch designs are usually stencilled onto the fabric using textile paints in a spray bottle or airbrush.
