A coat which featured in my collection a few seasons ago. I wear it all the time and I am currently making it again as a lightweight for Spring.
If I hadn’t been so busy over the winter I would love to have made this as a reversible in shower proof fabric lined with a faux fur lining showing to the outside around the edges. Cosy and practical – maybe next year!
The fullness of the gathers at the top of the raglan sleeve gives a nice strong shoulder line without having to have shoulder pads.
Wear it belted or loose. It’s easy to make and infinitely adaptable.
I used corduroy, which I love, lined with a polyester creased silk effect lining. I used a domette interlining for warmth. I made covered buttons from the lining material.
