Burda Style For people who sew

I always wanted something Nautical in my closet. So when I was invited to the Hamptons I just had to make this, only problem was that it was way to hot to wear it! I made it with furniture striped fabric from Joanne’s fabric store (I think) and lined it with cream satin that i already had from a project long ago. To give it a real sailor feel I added the rope like braids detail (also from my stash) with cute gold and silver military buttons. I couldnt believe I found the buttons at Walmart… that store keeps surprising me! I have yet to wear this out in town, but I cant wait!

Simplicity pattern 3628…. LOVE IT!

Material Notes

White & Navy blue stripped upholstery fabric, I think 3/4" cream rope braid, 1/4" and 1/2" silver & gold military buttons, Cream satin lining, (hooks & eyes… optional) and of course interfacing.
