A classic revisited, in between the cardigan and the jacket, I redrafted Idit pattern, straightening the front lines and shaping a sailor collar/opening. I later found out that the Talea coat pattern had all the features I needed to create this garment. I hand knitted the handcuffs and waistband, sewn golden ribbon at the edge of the upper collar part. I want to explore the ways to combine sewing and knitting. Creating your own ribbing is the way forward!

what a great idea to combine knitting and sewing! i’ve been putting off finishing a coat/hoodie because i couldn’t find the right ribbing for the edges. it never occurred to me to knit it! wonderful, spectacular piece.

I’m always impressed by your pattern alterations – I would have never guessed it was an alteration of Idit. I like the double breasted closure and, as usual, like how neatly you knitted the handcuffs and waistband.
