I’m so pleased with this top. I had this fabric in my stash, I had bought it on sale a while back, and was just waiting for the perfect pattern. I came across other people’s versions and was particularly keen on ’daysofcolour’s’ ‘coral linen blouse’ version. It only took me one afternoon from cutting to wearing…including toddler interuptions, snack break and a load of washing or two in between. Getting the bias binding to overlap properly and meet up with the underarm seam at the same time was very tricky but I think I just had too much seam to incorporate and should have done the bias seam further around. Loving this sewing thing!

The pieces make up to one piece for the back and one for the front both of which you place on a fold. I didn’t change anything about the pattern apart from making it a bit longer. You need to add seam allowance though, maybe that’s why it looks wrong?

From daggy old Spotlight! I’m thinking about going back to see if they have more so I can make a top the same for my sister. If I do, I’ll get the name of the print and will add it to the info for this project.

Wow, I actually have a hard time finding anything nice at Spotlight, but this fabric is great. Yes, please let us know what the name is of this fabric. Otherwise I might just show them your pictures. :)

Its absolutely gorgeous…..so simple, yet the fabric combined with the orange bias makes it look expensive.

The perfect pattern for a fabulous piece of fabric!! When you have such a wonderful fabric, you don’t need to use a complicated pattern and you have given it an individual look with the simple orange bias edge. Well done.
