I made this special events dress in the theme of Africa for my final product for GCSE Textiles. I really enjoyed making this dress although there were a few sleepless nights over whether it would be finished in time, and I am especially proud of the hand embellished neckline! It took me a whole half-term week to complete, but I feel that the overall effect is stunning! It was based on this pattern – http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m6609-products-23002.php?page_id=108 – although I lengthened it, removed the pockets and replaced the vent at the back with 2 knee-high slits.
Thanks to the beautiful Chisom for agreeing to model the dress – she looks amazing in it!
