For these trousers I used fabric that I got as a gift from Cape Town and used Burda pattern 7535 as a base pattern, but altered it heavily. The legs are changed and made shorter and the back of the legs are more cut to my size and curves.. The idea was to make a Marlene Dietrich style pantalon with an urban/tribal twist.

I was going to ask where you got this fabric, then I read your description. I guess I need to make more friends in the textile industry in Africa!

This particular piece I got from Cape Town, but you can buy blockwax cotton here in Holland and also in England in African fabric stores. I don’t know where you are from, but I bet you should be able to find some. On the internet there are also webshops that sell it. Just google blockwax fabric and you should be able to find some.
