Description

So named from where I purchased this fabric: Adelaide, South Australia.

I combined two patterns to make this dress: Burda 112 (10/2015) and McCall’s 7246. The sleeves are Burda and everything else is McCall’s. I’ll be trying this dress again, aiming for a better fit. (Photos here are on the dress form because it fits her slightly better than me.)

Seams are all either serged or French seams. The full blog post can be read here.

Material Notes

Imported from India, purchased in Australia.

Lovely drape, saturated colors, extremely fragile.

Adelaide was lovely! I found it at the pedestrian mall in a large store – there was SO MUCH FABRIC! It was wonderful :)

It’s a lovely dress and I love the fabric. I like the fact that you used a different pattern for the sleeves, I often want to do things like that but I’m always worried that the pattern pieces won’t fit together and I have to mess around with it … did you have any issues fitting the armscye / sleeve cap?

With this one I chose to gather the sleeve insert from the Burda pattern, which made it really easy.
I think if I use this again, though, I will take out some of the width there to make them less puffy, but otherwise there was no issue merging the two. :)
