I added a 3 1/2 foot train to this gown. The sewing itself wasn’t very difficult but finding places to spread out the work so I could make the pattern and cut was hard. So was keeping all this fabric from dragging while I ws sewing it! Thank goodness for the bride it comes off with velcro!
Satin, lining, snaps, velcro

I’m not exactly sure-I want to say . I think it was 6-7 yards of lining, 6-7 of satin (both flat) and then twice that for the top layer which has all the pickups or poufs because I cut that layer 1 1/2 times as wide and twice as long as the others. The cutting was definately the worst part of this. Making the pattern was easy. I just traced the hem of the dress (each section seperately) then added at the top for an overly for the velcro, and extended the sides to get the length I wanted. To cut the top poufy layer, I just cut the pattern pieces apart to add the extra length and width.

That is unbelievable! Beautiful work…. you must have found some powerful velcro to hold all that fabric!
