Created from the 4-patterns-in-1 Jenny pattern, today’s featured project is an acid yellow floral dress cut from variation D. Available as a single download, this pattern comes with 3 skirt variations (including exciting pattern pieces for suspenders and a dramatic bow) and a dress option, pictured above.
Acid yellow bounced off of the Spring 2010 runways like beams of promising summer sun. This daring color was generously used by design houses such as Pringle of Scotland, Matthew Williamson and Lanvin. I felt like we needed to feature this cute dress in a bright and summery Japanese printed cotton, to show the versatility of this dress, which was originally cut from a printed silk chiffon/charmeuse combination shown in the last image.

very nice color, I like anything looks different and if the button wrap was in the middle with the center line it would be like any normal dress, but I like it this way, good job, I will try it

Sorry, just to let you know that the back would look much better if the button wrap was in line with the centre back. Love the print though!

I love this dress. The shape looks so versatile. I’ve made up the skirt version (very bad fabric choice so it’s not posted) and it’s much more fitted than this version. I like the idea of going up a size in the dress version for a bit more flow. Beautiful colours.

So cute as a bright print! I personally can’t stand acid yellow, but it totally works here with the blue and purple to temper it. Maybe it’s my monitor, but it doesn’t look that acidic.

(color wise) it’s hard to say… it technically could be classified as chartreuse, or even gold-green, but I took artistic license and labeled it acid yellow- it had more appeal to me, and monitors definitely have a color palate of their own.

Ahhh… I like the way chartruese sounds better. Either way, I think this print is great. Good job!
