My Home, Colorad...
Dear Burda Style,
This is NOT my entry for the Sewing Vintage Modern contes, just so we’re clear :P
Now onto the fun stuff!
These accessories I made to go with my entry for the Sewing Vintage Modern contest. I used feathers to match the belt on my dress for one set of jewelry and simply beaded the second set. The black beads are actually from a necklace that belonged to my husband’s grandmother so they truly are vintage made modern! After doing some research I found that metal framed bags were really popular in the 1950’s. As I did not have a metal frame I made one up as best I could. I made a sleeve at the top edge of my purse and slide a wire (from a wire hanger) inside. I put hot glue on the ends of the wire so that they would not cut holes in my fabric and shaped them to how I wanted. I added a metal snap and VOILA! A make shift metal framed bag! The hair piece was made from left over feathers and fabric from my dress. I love them all! The feather jewelry I wanted to have a rocker chic feel to them so I made them really long.
It's time to enter for our grand prize, an EX100 machine PLUS a trip to Nashville!
