Another piece of fabric bought this week that I was determined not to allow anywhere near my cavernous fabric stash!! Bought on Sunday, washed on Monday, cut on Thursday and made on Friday. Done! This is also another piece of fabric I didn’t need, but my self-control had deserted me once again. I hope that by making it up so quickly, and getting it the wearable part of my cupboard, that I have gained some sort of absolution for my fabric buying sins!!
The pattern I used was Burdastyle 04/2009 no 118. The fabric is a wool + elastane blend, which is great! The elastane content means there is some stretch, which means that not only does it make more room when you need it, but it keeps its shape!! The inner waistband edge has been bound with a blue-purple bias strip cut from some lining from my stash. I love the navy & grey combination, but I have a feeling I may need to make a blouse in a silvery grey to go with them now. ;p Typical!
This pattern is great! I love the fitted top to the knees, and the way the flares kick out. there is an option not to have the deep cuffs, but I love them! The little pockets are also fab, just big enough for your iPod, or phone.
