Burdastyle’s Mila pattern with a twist – I inserted a chunky metal exposed zipper instead of the hooks and eyes to give the dress a more “edgy” look. I chose big red roses for the skirt part to go with the chunky zipper. The inner layer is a more delicate broderie cotton with vertical patterns (but it’s hard to see on the photos.) I adjusted the pattern slightly for a slimmer silhouette, however, the pockets ended up sticking out a bit! I tried to hide this in the photos by putting my hands in the pockets, but you can see how they are a little sticky-outty in the close-up.
Bodice: black linen, Skirt: quilting cotton with big red roses, Inner layer: cherry red broderie cotton, chunky metal zip, invisible zip
Thanks Burdastyle!
