This is a tulip skirt made from the Marie pattern. It is a stiff paisley printed silk that keeps the pleats very well. I did not include the pleats on the back because I thought it’d be too much, but now that I look back it could have used small back darts!
I made an attempt at the Marie pattern ages ago in linen and the combination of the material and inexperience with my serger created an abomination! I am very happy with this version, I think I will raise the hem another inch and tidy up the “invisible” zipper before I wear it out. I can’t wait to pair it with black tights and turtlenecks this fall!!!
