Description

I saw a cute top on Modcloth – it was made of flannel, but had cute girly details. I became obsessed with trying this out for myself. I used Simplicity 2501 for the basic shape, and then drafted longer ties. I added some more shape to the waist, and finished it with a thin set of shoulder pads for a more 40s silhouette. I love how it’s a girly blouse in a masculine material! For a longer review you can visit my blog – http://stitchywitch.wordpress.com/2010/01/24/fo-a-top-for-girly-lumberjacks-simplicity-2501/

Modcloth is an obsession with me. I go on there, find stuff I like and then add it to my list of things to sew. Of course, buying stuff from there would be out of the question for my money; but I constantly go there for inspiration. Your top is super cute, and it looks better than something on there.

It’s adorable! I love how you styled it as well, with the jeans and the lovely curls – vintage style with a modern twist. I do love it, wish I could have it! I’d wear it all the time. :-)

Oooooh! I just love it. I have try out this myself, I already have that same pattern and I just recently found a large men’s flannel shirt from a flee market and it has great colour combination so all I had to do is cut the pieces and sew :)

LOVE IT! I don’t think you would make a very good lumberjack in this blouse, more like a movie star! It reminds me of the movie ‘Christmas in Connecticut’. If you haven’t seen this movie run out and rent it! You look just like Barbara Stanwick.

It’s beautiful! The silhouette is very nice, so the alterations you did with the pattern were good ones!
