This dress is made in a lovely silk that gives 2 tones when it moves, antique gold and silver. I really love it!!!. Now, what I did is a one piece dress with a corseted blouse that fits very snugly, and the chiffon was all hand draped in a twist. There are no side seams, since doing it by hand gives us that choice. The skirt looks simple, but!!!!! since it is cul on circular layers, the chiffon kept growing, and I had to let it hang for about a week bejore I was able to do the hemmyng that is all done by hand (no machine baby hem….this is hand made baby hem). Now, I use a most beautifull and heavy trim all hand embroidered in silver to united the skirt and the blouse, and to enmarc the neckline also. At the back it closes with loops and small covered buttons. I was very please when I finished, and I hope you like it too.
Outer shell: 100% silk chiffon irisdiscent.
Lining: 100% silk crepe .
Trim: Hand embroidered over silk organza .

This is just my cup of tea! I love it! I may have to copy it for myself. But I might find a way around all the hand stitching. Not sure I have that much patience. I’ve had the problem you described – of the fabric growing. Waiting for a week or two to hem it is the only answer. I’ve done this kind of thing and I know what a challenge it is. Your layers are perfection!

My dear friend, thank you very much!! tus comentarios siempre son muy apreciados, de verdad!! Si, cada uno de los volantes es un circulo mas y mas grande, pues van montados en una base de chiffon en linea A, the problem came when I had left the material grow, and trim the circles, and did the hand baby hem, and then…put the into the base skirt……hang the skirt….and next day it was full of “colas” so……to cut again a….left it hanging for about a week….to make sure I was not going to have to redo the hems…..they are so time consuming!!!! well, to be quite honest…..if you look at the pic. carefully….there are some “colas” now and then…..but….I had to finished.

Thank you very much tamezdc!!! I very much appreciate your words, and it was not really the amount of work…..it was the patient I needed to wait till the material stretched all that much, but you are righ, I feelt happy when it was finish.

Eres tu la modelo? I can’t see if it’s you because you profile photo is tiny. Muy guapa anyway – in Portuguese anyway = de qualquer modo, but I’ve had to delete it as I thought I was starting to speak Portognol again. Lol, my Spanish friends tell me that I speak Portugnol when I get too excited. hahaha
