The Ruby Slip is a free pdf pattern and comprehensive set of tutorials over at Pattern Scissors Cloth, and as soon as I saw it, I knew it was just the most perfect pattern ever for me and I had to sew it ASAP!
I used some pale green silk from my stash and bought some matching green and brick-red lace and I’m just SO pleased with the end result here! The tutorials online are really like mini sewing lessons and I’d say this is definitely do-able for beginners even though it involves lace and bias silk. The end result is just like very expensive, high-end lingerie!
See way more photos and learn my tips about lace placement over at FehrTrade.com!

This is on my todo…seeing yours moves up up the list, just beautiful!! I follow Sherry’s blog obsessively. I think her tutorials are some of the best out there by far.

Oh I agree – her tuturials for this were just amazingly helpful! Lace and bias silk are usually very tricky indeed but she’s made them totally doable for beginners here!

I watched as this sew along progressed and I have to say that I love your finished slip. The pale green silk is gorgeous and you paired it perfectly with that lace.
