I have made a raincoat! and am pretty pleased with it since this is the first time I have attempted anything “technical”. I drafted my own pattern with the help of my old previous raincoat, and made my new one using nylon ripstop fully lined with polyester net. It has a drawstring hood and a separate high inner collar, two front zippable pockets covered with a fullwidth waterproof flap, and velcro lined tabs to tighten the wrists. All the inner seams of the shell are French seams for waterproofing purposes, and have been sealed on the inside with Seam Grip.
I have more pictures and details of making this in a boastful post on my blog here
nylon ripstop, polyester net lining, nylon cording, plastic cor-dtops, separating zip and 2 dress zips, eyelets, and Seam Grip for waterproofing
