Description

The dress for Constance, the mezzo-soprano in this year’s production of The Sorcerer. Constance is a very naive little girl with a crush on the local rector, until she drinks a love-potion and becomes wildly attracted to the old Q.C., despite him being ‘everything that she detests’. The costume remains the same throughout the show, but in Act 2, after she has taken the love potion, the skirt shortens, the under-shirt comes off and her hair comes down- she’s not the sweet little virginal girl she once was…

Material Notes

Old curtains, an old bedsheet and a pink skirt I ripped up. An upcycling triumph, I think.
